Restoration

In the complex world of soft furnishings and especially the upholstery restoration field, we are able to offer a service of quality considering our years of experience in the trade and are able to undertake most aspects of repairs that are required by customers to ensure the continued service they ask their furniture to provide.

There are times advice is all that is sought as to the appropriate course of action required to return a cherished chair or sofa to it’s original and former glory and feel that with the correct information we supply a solution in helping customers move forward and achieving satisfaction. This is can be working on whether tight upholstery or loose covers as required, and even which is the correct fabric if dealing with ‘modern’ furniture when considering the fire retardant regulations

With all customer requirements taken in account, we work on a like for like basis or undertake improving and upgrading to today's expected higher standard for furniture whether that is working with traditional fillings such as hair, coir, cotton felts, kapok or modern mediums of polyether foam, polyester sheeting, dunlopillo pad and carded dacron.

Most items of furniture with classic proportions, be it antique or designer labelled all have potential of being reupholstered effectively without being unviable, due to the build quality as long as any damage to frame or foundation are not severe, yet even delicate conservation work can still be undertaken

We have been happy to supply and fit new castors to match originals if possible, undertake the recovering of a single drop-in seat using client’s own material and even tasks of being able to square up petit-point tapestries, which are all part of the traditional service.

When feather and down cushions stop providing their original performance levels and have become lumpy, flat and ‘leak’ from failing cambric cases we can create new ticking cases and top up as necessary in rejuvenating as required. Many a good armchair comes into our workshop for just the need to be reseated with just the replacing of perished base webbings to give new support to cone spring or full hair units, although normally the whole seat whether fully sprung or as just platform for a cushion is likely in need of attention.
